As well as recently securing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification, Maysand has been working with The University of Salford to further improve our environmental credentials.
Through a research project, set up by the university, we worked with graduate Wayne Murphy to look in detail at the materials we use, the way we operate and some of the on-site work we carry out and we have tried to assess the impact of all this work on our carbon footprint.
“It was a very useful partnership because Wayne was able to bring an academic approach to the work we do. He has been able to highlight good working practices and standards, particularly with a view to our carbon footprint,” says managing director Bryn Lisle.
“He had the time and skills to look at our work in detail and identify areas of best environmental practice. We are committed to doing everything we can to protect the environment — it’s a fundamental part of our Corporate Social Responsibility policy, but this project has helped give us much more focus.”
